Valorec Services AG changed its name to Veolia Industry Building - Switzerland AG on April 1, 2020. This name change goes hand in hand with a diversification of the services offered by the company. This subsidiary of Veolia Industries Global Solutions has since moved its headquarters from Schweizerhalle (Muttenz/BL) to Basel.
For more than 20 years, the Swiss subsidiary has been providing waste and energy management services, operating the regional hazardous waste incineration plant in Basel and managing industrial facilities. Veolia Industry Building - Switzerland AG is operating five sites: the regional hazardous waste incineration plant in Basel (where its headquarters are now located), the Klybeck, St. Johann and Rosental sites in Basel, and the Stein site in the canton of Aargau. To date, its customers are mainly chemical and pharmaceutical companies.
The change of name to Veolia Industry Building - Switzerland AG goes together with a diversification of services as well as an expansion to new industrial sectors throughout Switzerland. The company now integrates additional services leveraging the strength of the Veolia Group: process water production and wastewater treatment, maintenance and management of industrial plants, waste recycling and energy efficiency.
"Our aim is to support industrial companies in various sectors and of all sizes, as well as public institutions throughout Switzerland, in supplying their essential utilities and reducing their environmental footprint, and thus to help Veolia grow," explains Michel Funfschilling, CEO of Veolia Industry Building - Switzerland. "Our range of services is designed to help our clients reduce the overall impact of their activities on the environment".
Contribution to climate protection
Concerns about water and energy consumption have increased because of the environmental and financial cost. The objective of many industrial companies is now to reduce the impact of their activities on the environment while containing or reducing their operating costs. In addition, the uninterrupted operation of complex industrial plants today requires ever increasing resilience, which is a specific know-how. Thanks to its strategic diversification, Veolia Industry Building - Switzerland AG is in a position to meet these needs in a comprehensive manner and to free its customers from everyday worries. "We are focused on the great challenges of our world: optimizing the use of resources while increasing the efficiency of companies," says Michel Funfschilling.
The diversification of the services offered by Veolia Industry Building - Switzerland AG is part of the Group’s "Impact 2023" strategic program with the ambition to become the benchmark ecological transformation.
"Veolia, aware of its responsibility towards the environment, uses its activities and expertise to contribute to climate protection, waste recyclingaffordable and clean energy and water," says Michel Funfschilling.
